RAMBLIN: by Helen Weldon

Welcome one and all to another beautiful fall season--leaves are turning, geese are heard in the skys and some morning soon there will be "frost on the pumpkin", I will be leaving for a Grand Chapter Session in Niagra Falls on Oct 2 and on Oct. 5 will retire from my office as Grand Fraternal Correspondent and my travels will be fewer. I have had 56 books on the Grand Chapter Session of other states to read and condense down for a report I will give to 1000+ delegates on Wed. October 4. This has been a wonderful experience that I will remember for a long time.

Many thanksto those who included such nice notes regarding the return of my Ramblin and I will try to keep them coming in the months ahead. Thank you to Stuart Johnson for his most generous donation to our treasury. "Soc" Nellis sent in his renewal, stating that he wished he lived closer so he could enjoy all our events. Jessie Fish sent a note with her renewal stating that she became ill at our festival and had to leave and we hope you recovered quickly. She reminisced about Dave Cleaveland and how his family always made sure he could attend festivals he loved.

Welcome back to Eugene and Marlene Arnold as members who had accidentally let their membership lapse.

Please say prayers and send a card to Mary Phillips, 368 County Rt 85, Fulton, NY 13069; Dusty Bevins on the death of his wife Carrie, Box 68A, chilson Rd., Ticonderoga, NY 12883; Wilna Russell, 2521 E Maple Terrace, Marcellus, NY 13108; Bruce Cutler (eye surgery) 5 Ditton St., Lyons, NY 14489.

I received a nice letter from Perry Cleaveland thanking me for the tribute I put into our newsletter.

I will miss the October and November meeting but will see everyone at our Christmas Party with "bells on". Until next time: You came into this world crying and those around you were smiling. Live your life so when you leave this world, you will be smiling and those around you will be crying.
