John Van Dusen has consented to be our Festival chairman for 2000. He did a wonderful job last year and we are sure to have the same outsome this year. After our December 12th meeting, there will be more information concerning our Festival 2000.
Our applications have a line for your e-mail address (suggested by Nancy of OneSong), so if there is any information you need, we will gladly send it via e-mail, if we have your address.
Helen Weldon, Vice-President, Membership chairperson and Sunshine chairperson is also involved with Eastern Stars. This is only one of many organizations she is involved in and wears many hats while a member. She was recently honored at a reception as grand fraternal correspondent. Helen is well respected in all organizations she is involved in.
Our November 28th Jamboree held at Raphael's Restaurant, 930 State Fair Blvd., Syracuse, NY was exceptionally nice and enjoyed by more than 80 people. The Salmon River Boys presented their usual professional presentation of old-time music, enjoyable vocals and entertaining instrumentals. They even did one better and held a square dance (with George Hall assisting, playing fiddle) with two sets of dancers participating and enjoying it to the fullest. The rest of the audience clapped their hands in rhythm to the music while watching the others dance. While the Salmon River Boys took a break, Flint Creek (Lee and Peggy)played their familiar country tunes which brought many dancers out on the floor. Flint and Russell gave us a quality array of songs which brought much pleasure. Also, a trio of "parking lot pickers" consisting of Ray Crouch, Gene Prichard and Peter Hoysic presented us with a variety ofsongs which were very amusing and fun.
THANK YOU to all of our Loyal Members who support CNYBA by attending meetings, Jamborees and our Festival and participating in all ways possible. Your positive input has been appreciated and has helped us grow this year. You should be very proud of yourselves.
Thank You to members, Ron and Nancy of OneSong who drove from Medina to do a special on Farmer Brown's show WVOA-FM for Lillian Moss, a very ill lady. During the following afternoon Ron and Nancy went to Lillian's home and presented her with hours of entertainment. What a wonderful, thoughtful thing to do. This will be remembered
for a long time. God Bless you both.FLINT and RUSSELL played at the Fireside Inn on November 19 in Baldwinsville where they received a wonderful reception. They also mentioned being involved with CNYBA and provided information to those who were interested. Thanks and continued success.
Also a thank you goes out to Ray Crouch who provides the sound for most of our Jamborees and also transports all of the memorabilia belonging to CNYBA to all the Jamborees and Festivals.
We welcome new members Glann Gilda of Binghamton and Betty Jame Windhauser from Fabius.
